
Sixteen years after his youthful violin performance in Toronto, musician, teacher and wellness coach Hains Tooming returns to Canada, this time to Kotkajärve Metsaülikool, to give both a concert and a presentation on mental wellness with The Psychology of Engagement: Finding Flow Through Personal Strengths.
Son of Ants Tooming, who has served as a visiting pastor at St. Peter’s church, Hains was born in Tartu in 1994 and started violin lessons at the age of eight. Describing Hains’ 2009 performance at St. Peter’s, Roman Toi predicted that Hains’ direct and confident musicality would take him far, and in fact Hains’ musical path did lead him to further studies, first in Tallinn, then Ireland. There, he had the opportunity to also begin researching mental well-being.
Currently based in San Francisco, Hains says that while he is active as a chamber musician, playing both violin and viola, teaching has become his main occupation. “I am very happy to be able to support young musicians on their creative path, promoting their artistic development as well as their mental and physical well-being.“

Kuusteist aastat pärast nooruslikku esinemist Torontos naaseb muusik, õpetaja ja heaolu treener Hains Tooming Kanadasse, et anda MU Chillis nii kontsert kui ka kõne vaimsest heaolust.
Peetri kirikus külalispastorina teeninud Ants Toomingu poeg Hains sündis 1994. aastal Tartus ja alustas viiulitundidega kaheksa-aastaselt. Kirjeldades esinemist Püha Peetruse kirikus 2009. aastal, kommenteeris Roman Toi, et Hainsi otsekohene ja enesekindel musikaalsus viib ta kaugele.
Oligi et Hainsi muusikaline tee viis ta algul Tallinna, seejärel õpingutele Iirimaale, kus tal oli võimalus alustada ka klassikaliste muusikute heaolu uurimist.
Praegu San Franciscos elav Hains teatab, et kuigi ta tegutseb kammermuusikuna, mängides nii viiulit kui ka vioola, on õpetamisest saanud tema põhitegevus. „Mul on väga hea meel, et saan toetada noori muusikuid nende loomingulisel teel, edendades nende kunstilist arengut ning vaimset ja füüsilist heaolu.”
